Summer Avenue / Memphis, TN
More lovely Memphians, on location in historic Chickasaw Gardens.
One of my very first memories: my dad, me and Muhammad Ali in Memphis, TN.
A few local landmarks, part of an ongoing collection that grows with each visit to the Land of Memph and Honey.
And a golden oldie for all you pre-2010ish Memphians out there… she’s a beauty.
I was in Memphis this month and while there, I set up a few family shoots (i.e. the locals). Featured here are two families, perfectly content to take some portraits in my parents’ back yard, which also happens to be the back yard of my childhood. As far as locations go, you could do way worse.
Two of my brothers graduated from medical school last weekend, from the same institution as my/their father nearly 40 years before. It was a rather excellent occasion.

Back in August, my then-pregnant brother and sister-in-law and I recreated a few shots from their Aaron Snow-photographed 2010 Memphis wedding. Now with the bouncing baby boy among us, we complete the trifecta:
Christmas card photo session season is upon us! Meet the Kelleys, some of Memphis’ finest. Hope you’re lucky enough to be on their Christmas card mailing list (not because you’ll be receiving a photo I took, but rather because it means you are in their good favor).
I kid you not, the original venue for this bride’s October wedding burned to the ground one week before the ceremony. But as you can see below, everything ended up just fine. The mother of the bride just so happens to be a seasoned wedding planner, and along with a SWAT team of family and friends, they Charlie-Brown-Christmas-treed (start at 4:02) this thing together flawlessly. It was a rather incredible thing to witness.
Earlier that day…
